Aurora R12, HDD 12TB, best solution
I got my Aurora R12 with 1TB HDD / 512 SSD. Unfortunately as I am using it for work I need at least 12TB of storage.
Checked the manual and it states "up to 2TB". However, in the other thread (https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R12-Storage-Capacity-Specification/m-p/7840956#M42599 ) it states that it is possible to put more.
Should I order new 12TB internal SATA or just get a 12TB+ external USB C drive?

That's just what they sell it with (up to 2TB HDD). They only validate stock configs.
There's nothing that would prevent it from working with over 2TB storage drives and others have done so. Just set it up using GPT.
Note there is only one 3.5" hdd caddy, which is being used by the 1 TB hdd, so you'd have to remove it.

They don't artificially cap the size of recognizable HDD space.
The 2TB is in reference to MBR limitations (which is inapplicable under GPT).
