Aurora R13, Push/Pull CPU PHANTEKS
PHANTEKS-F120T30 120MM PHANTEKS PH-F120T30 120MM FAN
This fan fits perfectly onto the cooling block and plugs straight into the spare CPU fan supply and gives the CPU cooler push/pull
Brings downs temps nicely all round including GPU
Fan comes complete with necessary screws for mounting onto cooling block (use shorter screws as two lengths supplied), existing chassis mount then connects to the new fan and fits perfectly.
There is no strain added to cooler pipes and is a extremely easy mod to carry out.
Also replaced to the three other fans with Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM.
I removed as the Alienware OC utility as something is broken in the software for me right now and it actually impedes performance significantly.
Should add when running Cinebench Multi this PC is even more quiet. Will be posting temps etc later this week along with scores.

Vanadiel the PHANTEKS fan is really worth a look at. Slightly thicker at 30mm but push a lot of air. I’m considering removing my Notua’s and fitting these all around.

I am very impressed with the case fans that came with my Lian Li case. They are virtually silent and push a lot of air. I was expecting having to replace them.

Interesting. the cable connectors on the top of the motherboard look interesting. Some kind of OEM standard? Never seen connectors like that before.

What were your temps prior to the mods?

I just got my fan and was wondering if you had to take off the front fan to do the mod or can you do it without taking it off?

Hi mate, the existing fan stays on the radiator at all times. If in doubt, down load the R13 Manuel.
Honestly it’s straight forward, Alienware have made it extremely easy to mod.
I’m going to be posting temps when I get time

This is the comparison as done by Noctua: Comparison
The difference is in the center oval labeled 2 in that picture, which is due to the NF-A12 flat curve (Black solid line).
It creates very good airflow for both radiator and heat sink application.
I have both used NF-F and NF-A on a NH-U12S Noctua air cooler, and currently use them in push-pull. The NF-A as push and the NF-F as pull.

I completed the mod not too long ago and you were 100% right. Easy to do and makes a big difference as the system runs cooler. I noticed you went with the Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM for case fans. I have the NF-F12 Ippc-2000 PWM and was wondering what I am missing because everyone seems to want to go with those when the industrial series move more air and have the higher static rating. Is that fan just better for some reason? I notice they are a bit quieter but that's about it when I compare them on the Noctua website.

Amazon only has a pack of 3 on those Phantek fans. Could I just use the Noctua A12-25 or A12-15 for the push/pull and for the other 3 fans?
The motherboard comes with a spare fan header for you to plug that additional fan to?

My R13 should be arriving soon and am also looking for ways to keep my temps down.
I saw a Youtube video saying at 2000 rpm (max rpm for the Noctua), there isn't much of a noise and air-moving difference between the stock dell fans and the Noctua. Could you confirm this?
The push/pull on that AIO cpu cooler looks very promising. There seems to be a stock problem regarding the Phantek fan that you are recommending. Could I just use the Noctua A12-15 or A12-25? Would that work?
I think the A12-25 is overall better than the A12-15 right? Would these fit in the R13?
You said that the additional fan can be plugged directly onto an extra fan header on the motherboard?
Can you also replace that stock dell rgb fan on the cooler with another noctua fan or another rgb fan like a corsair?

Should work good but additional airflow wont really help a 12900kf. It really needs a good 280mm - 360mm AIO radiator to help the 12900 TDP for it all to work good. Even a 280 AIO can struggle with the 12900kf if its not efficient enough. Dell providing a 120mm radiator is just plain incompetent really, and then you're pumping hot air over the radiator from inside the case which just doesn't make sense either..
