Aurora R15, retail DDR5 compatibility?
I am having issues with upgrading my DDR5. Stock was 16gb Kingston Fury 5200. I’ve tried all of the following:
Kingston Beast 64gb 5200
Kingston Renegade 32gb 6400
G.Skill Trident 64gb 5600
T-Force 64gb 6000
- with any of these it will not allow me to enable XMP profile in the Bios (it is greyed out).
- if I enable RAM1 profile in AWCC and reboot it will show the speed of the DDR5 in XMP….ie 5200, 5600, 6400, etc…..but I get an error message in message center that OC profile is not supported.
- I verified with CPUID, task manger performance tab, and HWINFO that the XMP speed is enable for all of these, but still get that error message.
For anyone that has had success in upgrading the DDR5 in the R15, how did you get it to work? Did you get an error message in message center? If you got error message, are you just ignoring it? So far I have gotten little help from Dell support except that I should buy my DDR5 from them. Which is ridiculous since my last DDR5 purchase was Kingston Beast 5200, the same as they sell.
please help.

Actually the Kingston Beast 5200 aftermarket memory is NOT the same Dell sells. Only the OEM Kingston only available from Dell is guaranteed to work as expected.

It might, or it might not since it's not validated. Only the validated OEM memory listed above are guaranteed to work.
This is one of the downsides of OEM machines.

We never validated a 64GB memory stick. We validated two 32GB memory sticks for a total of 64GB. The online Aurora R15 Setup and Specifications PDF shows the validated memory configurations using our OEM memory =
