Aurora R3, shutting down
Hello,
Alienware Desktop R3 just randomly started to shut down last night, so after cleaning it out really good I really thought that would of worked without bad it was dust wise but no luck. It basically shuts down after 5-10 mins of running just idling on desktop. I was watching the thermal info and it never got above 73F if it hit 73 it was at it for maybe 15-20 seconds before going down to 71F then it would power off.
is this really over heating? if so just go ahead and replace all Fans and psu?
This is a really basic install of windows 10, Chrome & Office 365 and TrendMicro are installed that's it besides Stream
SSD 500GB
9GB memory
320-2095 : AMD Radeon HD 6950

Just updating thread - it was 100% the PSU. I put the 875 psu in and booted up let it run for 45 mins no issue then ran Full Diagnostic test from dell and loaded a few games.

Does it pass ePSA (outside of Windows) ?
Have you tried re-seating all major-components and core-plugs (but you don't have to mess with littleplugs on MIO-Board). Be careful as it's old.
If Liquid-Cooler is failing, one tube is often unusually hot while the other is cool.
Just so you know, the Aurora-R3 was notoriously finicky.

I haven't re-seated anything yet.. first step was cleaning it out but I was in the BIOS screen checking things out and it powered off so that's why i am wondering if psu or something is actually dying. It basically shut down and restarted then run for a few then load windows and shut down again then end up staying off for a few minutes before I can power it back on. I am just leaving it unplugged until I know what I need to replace.
Very odd that it just started two days ago and has been perfect since I've got it.

well re-seated everything and still same issues... I went ahead I just ordered PSU for the R3, I did find an r4 875 psu that works in r3 when it comes i'll try that.. worst case i'll be replacing parts
