Aurora R3, Windows 11, TPM
Hi,
My Aurora R3 is 10 years old now but is still happily running the latest games. The only part that failed over the years was the liquid cooling that I replaced and I upgraded the hard disk to an SSD and upgraded the video card a couple of times. Economically it is written off, but just for fun I want to keep using it for as long as possible, but I cannot upgrade to Windows 11 without a TPM module (well at least not without the risk of not getting updates). I found TPM modules on the Internet that you can install on a Low Pin Count connector, and the Aurora R3 motherboard has one. Does anyone know what motherboard the Aurora R3 has and if a TPM module would be recognized by the BIOS?

You seem interested in getting TPM chip for Windows 11 on R3. R3 cpu however is not eligible for Windows 11 because it is Sandy bridge Intel 2nd Gen. For official Win 11 installation and support you need at least Intel 8th Gen cpu in addition to TPM and secure boot option.
otoh, you can skip the TPM and install unofficial Windows 11 in R3 which skips the requirement for cpu, TPM, and secure boot. You just would not receive MS update on Win 11.

Thanks, I missed the 8th gen requirement for the CPU. So unless my Aurora R3 dies of old age I should be able to use it until October 14th 2025!

FYI, hats off to Alienware engineering: my Aurora R3 just turned 13 and it is STILL happily running the latest games!

Impressive. Yes, the SSD as bootable C-drive should help. Yeah, I would suggest keeping it on Windows-10. That's what I have on my Aurora-R1. It still get updates.
It got SSDs and Nvidia GTX-1070 long ago. Now-days, I use it for Kodi (with Harmony remote) in Home-Theater (Onkyo-Amp and projector) and for gaming in Steam's Big-Picture-Mode with a DS4-Controller.

I still have my Aurora R5 and it still works great. Its still my daily driver. I use the PC about 12 hours a day since I got it in 2016 and it has not stopped working and boots up every day. I am beyond satisfied with the product.

@redxps630 I've' installed the unofficial version of windows 11 and it seems to work fine on my Aroura R4. I had also seen the TPMs avaiable 14pin for LPC port. Now that Win 11 is installed if I add this TPM will I recieve the updates? Do I have to worry about pin values event though it seems to be keyed with the lack of a pin.

The reason I asked is that I also have the R3 desktop which would be great to add windows 11 also. I'm not a gamer and these machines the R3 and R4 both do a great job running my poker gaming and OBS as well as other software. Even though not approved so far the R4 is running great on windows 11. If I can add the TPM 16 pin module to get TPM I could check off another requirement. That leaves only the processor issue.
