I am a little confused. You say that you were trying to update the BIOS to A14 but I only see one BIOS version for the Aurora R4. The video card upgrade should not be a problem as long as your power supply can handle it and you have the proper power supply plugs for the card.
This forum post pertains to exactly what you would like to do.
Some additional information on this post..had to dig a bit for this. And pay attention to the suggestions of the Moderator. If the system is running fine then a BIOS upgrade is not a must. If it ain't broke don't fix it really applies to any BIOS updates.
That's what i thought as well.. that i was running the most recent BIOS for this system but i ran across someone saying they updated their r4 past A06. I was confused myself so i thought i would reach out.
I have an 875 watt psu so my PSU should hold up fine as well as having (2) 6+2pin connectors.
The r4 MOBO's should be compatible with new cards as well?
