Aurora R5, motherboard replacement options?

My Aurora r5 computer stopped working so I replaced the power supply. It still wouldn't turn on, a local shop took a look at determined the motherboard is fried.

What can I replace it with? Anything under $800?

I found replacement (new) motherboards on e-bay.  I can't vouch for it other than I found it doing a search.

Your budget's $800?

Dell HQ is in RoundRock, Texas; there is a large surplus vendor market in a ~500-mile radius of HQ that buys Dell's surplus, but of course nation-wide, many other vendors can also buy this surplus & do; when buying new, used & *refurbished* Alien parts I 1st look for vendor location & Texas vendors always get a green light; next I appraise condition & look for signs of factory surplus box / materials; when I see a listing like this I can be certain it's Dell direct (within reason) which is of course a bonus to overcome anxiety & to otherwise affirm the provenance / instill confidence etc

Vendors who accept offers, like below, offer $140, see if accepted

*it was explained to me by someone that knows, that Dell 'refurbished' parts are almost always brand new parts w/ a refurbished disclaimer for legal purposes, as opposed to the connotation that the part was 'used' & 'rebuilt / reconditioned' in some way; refurb can also (& most often does) denote new never used 'surplus'

*find a brand new product like Area-51m laptop, call Dell for a spare part, it could be listed as 'refurb' yet be new never used Dell Direct; this is typical for 'refurb' parts we see online, refurb can mean new in the same way we use the word new & expect it to mean

*Your R5 has to have an original mthrbrd, it can't accept any other kind or brand

Since your budget is $800, if you're skeptical of 'refurbs', then buy 2 of them now & hold one as known good spare; otherwise, buy #2 today/tomorrow/soon & shop for #3 in the future in the event #2 you've shopped for / purchased soon fails in the future etc

Check your mthrbrd part#, then go about buying a 498GR or 1NYPT (I don't know the difference between part #'s, I suspect there isn't one)

If the mthrbrd u purchase does not have an aluminum VRM heatsink (immediate left of CPU socket) transfer yours onto it, if it has one now

I've tried 5 times to post this reply w/direct links, it won't let me (*NOW I know why*). Head to eBay, search term = Aurora R5 motherboard, filters are US Only & sort price lo-to-hi

*edit I could not reply because I typed a naughty word

If you want to take the time for an upgrade, there's some R7 motherboards (z370) on ebay for less than that, $90, and a number in the $120 range.  Of course, your CPU would need to be upgraded to 8th gen (I think yours would be a 6th gen, so only compatible up to Z270, as the R5 is at Z170?)  I don't know if any of the proprietary connections have changed, but the plastic shell and a lot of the interior components share the same part numbers for R5-8, and they're both the same size 1151 mobos, so I'm thinking there may be a good chance a Dell mobo to newer Dell mobo option is doable without having to bust out that jig saw.

I need to upgrade my motherboard and cpu, I have 1k budget. My i7 6700 is starting to be a bottleneck.I was thinking the 9700k. I also have 2 m.2 nvme drives, so I need a motherboard that has at least 2
