Aurora R6, OC Profiles?

Hi,

I have an Aurora R6, i7-7700k, Nvidia GTX 1080. I installed AWCC as well as OC Controls. But it is not downloading the OC Profiles? If anyone has those profiles, can you please share?

Thanks

Support won't respond to you with a link to the profiles?  It would seem like they should since this seems to be a Dell issue.  On that note, I have seen other users who have reported on other forums that this issue came up following the most recent BIOs update for their machine (not limited to desktops), and others have also reported success fixing this issue by flashing back (though I would never recommend back-flashing BIOs).  For that matter, that last time I updated my BIOs I was still within my 30 day return period.

thanks for reply, Support won't reply, I have reached out to multiple people and no-one is providing the link to profiles. I am out of warranty and it is really difficult to digest to have this expensive system but not able to OC, that was the whole purpose to buy 7700k

The only response I received to my request for them to reactivate the server that has the files or for someone to email them to me was to purchase a service agreement. Sad. I like my PC but won't be buying a pre-built Dell again to just be ignored when asking for simple stuff. Why is a service package needed to just have basic files available for people?

Keep in mind the OC profiles are CPU specific.  Even with the same model PC they are not the same. It is possible to damage the hardware by applying an overclock setting for a different CPU (though probably/hopefully it would be blocked by the Dell BIOS).

Oh thank you for the offer! I'll DM you my info. I kind of just gave up and went into the bios and put it on level 2 and left it there so I might not even bother with the OC Controls. I think I saw a post where you were R6 7700k like me right?

While we appreciate FateHD assisting other users by uploading the profiles, Dell cannot assist with any issues you may encounter by installing them.

Concerning the out of warranty 2017 Aurora R6, Dell Support would follow these instructions =

* Download/install the last released BIOS update, 1.0.23. Restart when finished
* Uninstall Alienware OC Controls. Restart when finished
* Uninstall Alienware Command Center. Restart when finished
* Download/install Alienware Command Center 4.8.23.0. Restart when finished
* Download/install Alienware OC Controls 1.0.4.0. Restart when finished

Dear Chris M,

These profiles are needed to get the component "OC Controls", known as part of the old AWCC, working in a correct way. As Dell shut off the server somewhere in 2020 with the needed profiles for the users who wants to overclock their K processors, there is no other way to get OC Controls working correctly. Til that time predefined profiles got downloaded automatically by OC Controls from the Dell server. Users have to pay 60 Euro or 60 Dollar to buy these profiles via software support which is a strange way of Dell to earn money with out of warranty Alienware Aurora R5/R6/R7 desktops. Your instructions are helpful, but not definitely not solving the issue of the missing profiles. The technician on the phone confirmed me that users are not able to solve this issue on their own.
