Aurora-R6, Replacing PSU, I read all the threads

I need to replace the 850W HuntKey power supply in my R6 because it no longer works. I have a thread in here about it and I have read all the linked threads users were kind enough to relay to me.

My first option is to spend $185 on a Delta 850W through Dell.  The nice thing about this is it's a one-for-one swap and I use all the same cables that are clearly marked on both the power supply and the cable itself.

Checking on the recommended replacement this will work, however:

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B1 110-B1-0750-VR 80+ BRONZE 750W Semi Modular Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply

This thing is $80 and apparently is better, quieter and cheaper.  My question is what cables would I need to swap for this setup?  I read that the optical drive cable is proprietary. I never use the optical drive and could research and purchase that adapter at my leisure.

Do all the other cables that came with the stock R6 work on this power supply? If they do, this is the best option for me.

Sorry for the lame questions.  I'm a Mac guy for everything other than this one desktop and my ignorance is glaring!

I don't believe the optical drive power cable is proprietary however the motherboard in your computer has an 8 pin power plug instead of a 24 pin. You would need the following adapter to plug into your motherboard.

Delta Huntkey 850 can go as low as $40, if buying used bothers u then buy two of them, this is your easiest option

Only those two power supplies can be used with original case cables --> if u buy a different brand then only use the cables that come in its box (PSU cables don't interchange between brands)(and sometimes not even between models within the same brand)

ODD cable adapter for aftermarket type like EVGA G3 850, is a micro-SATA / slimline sata, try eBay Amazon google > example or Dell 1YMGT or slimline etc

Aftermarket types can get cramped, original 850's eziest due to custom-fit cables

What are you talking about, of course it has a 24pin

NO NEED FOR 24-TO-8P ADAPTER MENTIONED BY OTHER MEMBER
