Aurora R7, bluetooth not working

My allienware aurora r7 bluetooth module was suddenly dead today. In settings, it displayed that bluetooth had been shut down. In device manager, there was no bluetooth icon but only this -- Unknow USB device (Device descriptor request failed) with a yellow triangel on the icon. I contacted MS technical support but nothing solved. And after their instruction, I couldn't find the bluetooth icon even if I checked the "Display hidden devices" option. Finally they told me to come to Dell for help. I got really confused. Could someone help me with this? I searched on Google and tried manys ways but none of them worked.

BTW: I called Dell technical support. I just wanted some instructions to solve my problem. However, my warranty is expired. He said he could not give me any help unless I bought a new warranty. The free option is to ask this community or YouTube. Why? No warranty on support or even not try to support? Never heard of that. I used to heard that allienware has the best customer service. But this expericence made me really disappointed.

What Bluetooth module do you have?

Is your WiFi working?

Have you tried re-seating the mini-PCIe Wireless mini-card?

You have to be under warranty or pay for extended contract to get free tech-support. Its always been like that.

Try the following page. There is a link to a driver that seemed to help another user.

If anyone wants to "work the problem" ... try answering the questions I posted.

If you are just venting, carry on .

Just so you know, Dell Technical Support (usually accessible by phone/chat) does NOT read this forum.

Managed to solve it:

1. Uninstall from Device Manager the "Unknow USB device (Device descriptor request failed)"

2. Reboot computer

Lot of issues with latest KB4505903 Win 10 update.  Check to see if your PC recently downloaded and installed said update.  If so, could potentially explain why your BT was working fine one day and disappeared completely the next.

Run sfc/scannow is what MS is saying until they can release a fix.

@HitMonkey PMed me to say ...

I had this Bluetooth burn out on 2 desktops, both last night. I've been working on them since 5am, tried all of the reinstall ideas and nothing.

Tried the pull wireless card, boot, shutdown, replace, angle and it worked 1st time on both systems! Which iks-me because I tried completely restoring the OS on my Aurora-R7 first (and it didn't help).

=================

So, sounds like it was not software or drivers ... just a bad electrical connection and re-seating the MiniPCI card fixed it on two machines.
