Aurora R7 Cases

Alienware Aurora R7

Alienware Aurora R7

Hey all

So i know this question will have been asked before regarding case compatability with my R7 Proprietry board, Butttt,

Is there any other Computer cases out there, maybe even another Dell case, where the console connector plug, the wires that fit come from the power button etc would be the same to be able to use my mobo in it.

Reasons - Although my case just about does the job, i despise the fact that the design of it has the psu sitting right on top of the cpu cooler,  theres not enough room at all in the R7 case, id like to have a aio loop watercooler.

Now before anyone says buy the corsair watercooler, its defunct, its 2018 model and not available anywhere in the UK and a watercooler for this seems impossible, most current 140 coolers all have quite a big cpu block, so without knowing the exact measurement between psu and cpu cooler id have no clue on what would work, then theres the fan compatability.

Obviously itd be easier if everying was in a much better case, Did Dell ever make any nice gaming cases for instance?,  I do know someone once posted about removing the power button and wiring from the R7 and fitted it to a new case and did a hack together job on the wiring, i dont really want to do that because its obviosly not going to look fantastic,  OR maybe theres another aurora series case thatd take this mobo thats designed better and doesnt have a psu sat on the cpu.

Anyway, theres my questions, now i know most of you will have heard all this before and know the answer straight away, but hopefully i can get some good sound advice.

Thanks in advance.

The R7 board power button proprietary led cable does not work in other modern Dell Aurora gaming pc case (R5-R12, and forget about R13-16), but you can still swap the R7 board into an older standard Dell pc case (by standard I mean not proprietary power button) such as older Aurora R1-4, XPS 8700/8500/8300, Inspiron 3847, or non-Dell standard gaming pc case by connecting new case power switch to the the two pins.  I did it by moving R7 just the board, no power button cable to a full tower nzxt phantom case.  I have 95% success.  5% downside in my case is I have to reset cmos each time after shut down in order to power up the board next time.  there may be a better way I do not yet know.
