Aurora R7, flashing white light above optical input
Hello,
New to the group. I have an Aurora R7 with a white flashing light above the optical input. The icon above the optical input that is flashing looks cylindrical. Possibly a battery indicator for the CMOS? I have never noticed it before until tonight. Just looking for confirmation on this theory or is it possibly something else? I did some searching on the net and in the manuals and haven't found anything. FWIW I have an R11 in route. Hopefully see it in the next couple of weeks. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps a hard drive activity light.

That is the HDD activity light. No idea why they put it in that location, as they are typically in the front or not available at all.

Yep Thats what is. Finally found an image that displays the Icon. Never really noticed it before and I've had this PC for a few years now. Thanks! I might do the Coin Cell battery just for maintenance reasons.

Thank you. Just noticed this light for first time myself as I was laying in bed trying to sleep. Dont recall ever seeing it before so I was paranoid my few month old machine might have an issue already, and couldn't find it labeled in the online manuals. Every image I could find of that panel had everything BUT that little LED listed. Was about to resort to using the warranty support email but everyone knows the headache that always becomes, even for simple questions.... Not sure how I never noticed it before as its pretty bright for a single LED!

Presumably the flashing light on the back of my XPS is the same thing. I want it t STOP! Is there a way to turn it off? If not I suppose I will tape something over it. The computer is in my bedroom and that light is very annoying as I am trying to sleep or if I need to get up in the night!

Not that I am aware off. A small piece of duct tape might be your solution.
