Aurora R7 RAM help

So im trying to upgrade the ram in this older machine to Kingston Fury 2x8gb ram but I cannot get it to post reliably. I know everything does work because I was able to get it to recognize the ram and everything ran fine at first

Here's what I was doing when it worked

I installed 1 stick into slot 1 (closest to cpu) and it eventually booted after turning it off/on (can be replicated)

I went into bios, disabled xmp and saved/exit

After this I powered off the machine and switched the ram in slot 2 and added the other stick to slot 4.

Eventually like with the single stick it finally booted up for the first time but I cannot replicate this. (Pc won't post)

I don't know if there's a more consistent method or what it could be.

Any help would be appreciated!

Issue has been resolved, pretty sure it was the ram itself causing these problems

Reseat the ram and let it sit for a few, if nothing happens, power off and on.
