Aurora R7, upgrade case, ram, PSU

The best of luck if that is what you want to do...personally, I would start over from scratch.  You may find my post "Aurora R9, Adventures with power supplies" (five or six pages back), helpful as to what might be in store for you.

We all have financial constraints on our projects, but if you re use the dell motherboard, you may find yourself with a socket for four pins and a plug from your new power supply with six or eight pins.  If you are up for that challenge, then read back over the post here, there are many good recommendations and some post have photographs which really assist in understanding the layout of the Aurora machines.

Regarding memory, check your owners manual to see if that can be used on your motherboard, if you later decide to upgrade your processor; a new motherboard will probably be require anyway due to socket changes.

If I were to start from scratch, would I be able able to reuse anything like the 1070 that is in there already? Or the CPU? 

I have the i7-8700 6 core. Is that a decent one to keep using? 

Slightly better performance and looks mostly. Budget isnt firmly set yet i am trying to get an idea of what i am going to need.

I do game on my PC. I dont get bad frames with the games i play but i do notice when i drop heavily and its happening more often as time goes by. Upgrading my cpu and gpu i was trying to wait for cyber monday to try and sneak a deal.
