Aurora R8, disk error reported by Windows 11
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Aurora R8 to windows 11. A week after the upgrade, windows reported disk error on the c drive (ssd) and running chkdsk /f didn't fix the problem. From the eventviewer, I found 3 corruption events, one of them is

Please run chkdsk /scan to find the problems and queue them for repair.
I ran the dell diagnostic tests on the sdd hard drive and they didn't find any problem. Will reinstall windows on the c drive fix this problem? Also how to reinstall windows from the dell image? Thes are the volumes on the system.

From what I see in your post
and that won't correct the problem. I would suggest using the chkdsk /r option instead of the /f option
( Often you need to be unmounted (drive)) in recovery mode from windows or usb stick install media
in repair mode option.

Kinda sounds like this, doesn't it?

I suggest you install and run Crystal-Disk-Info or Passmark's DiskCheckup and see what your drive's SMART status is.

I would use the windows explorer disk check. It might need to do this pre-boot, in which case it will ask for a reboot.
Windows disk check
If you still have unremovable errors after that, do a TRIM on the SSD.
If you still have errors after that, it is possible the SSD is end of life and you can use what Tesla suggested to see the SMART status and see if you have any unrecoverable disk blocks, or other issues.

After you Windows Error Check your drives and the other stuff ...
If Windows still boots, I suggest you backup your important files. However, don't erase your last good backup because some of these current files might be corrupt. That's a lot of random corruption shown there. Unless you can explain with some recent events, I would say hardware-failure (maybe just disk failure). Good disks inside good computers don't do this.

Thanks for Tesla and Vanadiel's reply. Disk repair from file explorer didn't work as well. I checked my computer and TRIM is enabled. I downloaded Crystal disk info and got at 56% score.
Does that mean my ssd is still good and I can reinstall windows?
Thanks

56% is a terrible score ... especially for a SSD. I wonder why the box is still Blue and rated Good ?
Man, what is going on with these Toshiba XG5/XG6 SSDs ?

At the end are my recommendations of actions before I would put it back in service.
Maybe try the Passmark program ?

Looking at % of health status, I would advise you to clone SDD to new one ASAP...
Use Macrium Reflect and any USBtoNVME adapter for new ssd, new ssd can be larger size than old one, and after cloning just replace old one, and make extension of primary partition to use all space (I used portable MiniTool Partition Wizard 9.0).
replaced my NVME drive from Toshiba 256Gb to Samsung 970 pro 512GB, just swap, no problems

Sorry of not able to update earlier as I had problems accessing this forum. I found out if I performed the chkdsk under safe mode, chkdsk was able to fix the disk errors. A normal reboot did not fix the disk error, as @steadler pointed out, chkdsk was executed in verify mode. Thanks for all the suggestions.
