Aurora R8, SSD has high power cycle counts
Not sure if that is just the way those 1GB Micron TLC SSDs work or something else. But apparently every time I restarted the computer, HWiNFO or CrystalDiskInfo would add one to the "Power On Count" or "Power Cycle". Therefore, my R8 has a very high power cycle counts compared to power-on hours. My other computers only consider a cold boot as a power-on cycle and disregard OS restart. Did anyone notice the same thing?

The first question that came to my mind is why are you restarting your computer 6 times an hour?

I did restart quite a lot for various reasons. But maybe not as frequently as about 6 times an hour. Sleep/Wake Up may also add to the number.

Well, I realized that the problem is not just overcounted power cycles, but also undercounted power-on hours. My R8 also has an HDD that I installed about one month after the desktop purchase. That hard drive logged about six times more power on hours than the SSD.

The over counting of power cycles and under counting of power-on hours maybe related. Either the system host bus is putting your SSD controller to sleep so often or the SSD controller itself may be able to do that.

Thanks for the link. I have submitted an inquiry. So far the computer works fine and I never noticed any issues with the SSD. I am just curious if other R8 users with Micron 2200 SSDs installed have the same experience.

I'll check mine later. My R8 shipped with HDD and Optane so I tossed that out and put in a Crucial P1.
Let me know if you aren't getting traction on that inquiry.

After a few days of close observation, I now conclude that my Micron 2200 1TB SSD has been actually counting power on time more like in days instead of hours! That is really something weird.
A quick Google search shows that there are some people talking about extremely under counted power on hours for used SSDs or laptop SSDs.
