Aurora R9, BIOS update 1.0.14/1.0.15
I am currently having issues with BIOS 1.0.14 reading a “top fan” issue at startup with my R9 suddenly. Once I get past the BIOS screen the pc works just fine.
Dell techs came out to replace the top fan only to be met with the same issue. Dell says it’s an issue with BIOS 1.0.14 and to wait for the next update 1.0.15.
1.0.15 is here and now it won’t update because it doesn’t recognize the system… any ideas?

did you try copy the new bios.exe on a bootable usb then boot the pc from usb and update bios by running exe in command prompt? Note any bios update may potentially brick motherboard or render system not to POST. the risk is inherently always there.

I would not believe what Dell tech says. when they have no good clue they just suggest bios update which puts risk on you. your bios has not changed but the issue is new. try replace cmos battery a brand new one and clear cmos settings.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been away on business.
any special battery needed? And specifically how do you clear CMOS settings... I have encountered multiple ways of doing this...
