AW2523HF, 360Hz, pixelation, grainy

Hi all,

Just got this monitor, so far i really enjoy the amazing response time and all around smoothness. Colors aren't great, but it's a gaming monitor so not really an issue.

My complaint which i still can't solve is the pixelation i guess you say. Kinda looks grainy if that makes any sense. In my Battlefield and Elder Scrolls online it's not great but fine to play. The regular text in windows kinda looks like when you go from Anti Aliasing to not. 7 Days to die is near unplayable.

I haven't really seen this as a common complaint. I have tried tweaking and every settings i can possibly try but cannot get sharp text or playable 7 days to Die.

It is currently hooked up to a 1080 Ti. Shouldn't be the reason but i'm open to ideas. I have a Radeon 7900 XTX on the way, maybe that will help?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Are you using DP or HDMI cable connection? And is the resolution set properly in Windows? I believe the HDMI on that card supports up to 120Hz and the DP up to 144Hz.

Make sure resolution is at 1080P.

Besides that, it should look like any other 1080P.

Sorry for late reply, been kinda busy.

Resolution is set properly. I today upgraded to a radeon 7900xtx today. Still looks pixelated and just poor. I have the monitor next to it. I don't remember model but it's a dell 1440p 144hz monitor. I look at them and it's obvious right away. The old monitor is on HDMI and the new alienware monitor is on DisplayPort. Guess i can rule out GPU issues as i am not only on a different card but a different maker even.

Would prefer to not return the alienware as for games the Fluidity and low latency is nothing short of amazing!

Open to tips or tricks to improve! I could swap and put it on the HDMI instead of DP?

And you are using the supplied cables to connect the display?

No, i am using the same one as the monitor the alienware replaced. Which was an older 24inch 4k monitor just used for side stuff. I looked in the box and do indeed have the DP cable it came with. Would you suggest i swap it and see if it makes it better?

@Fugrat Yes, if the original cable causes issue you might want to check warranty options by pressing the get help now button on the lower right corner of the screen.
