AW3420DW, DisplayPort and HDMI usage?

Hi,

I own an AW3420DW and I would like to know if I need to plug in both DisplayPort and HDMI? Or it can be either one?

cheers

Tuablink,

When using a single video card in a PC that has multiple video out ports, only ONE of those video out ports would be connected to the AW3420DW.

Examples =

Aurora R11 MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super DP out port --> AW3420DW DP to DP cable --> AW3420DW DP in port
-or-
Aurora R11 MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super HDMI out port --> retail HDMI to HDMI cable --> AW3420DW HDMI in port
-or-
PC video card mDP out port --> AW3420DW mDP to DP cable --> AW3420DW DP in port

To use both AW3420DW DP in port and HDMI in port at the same time, you would need two source devices.

Example =

Aurora R11 MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super DP out port --> AW3420DW DP to DP cable --> AW3420DW DP in port

PlayStation 5 HDMI out port --> PlayStation 5 HDMI to HDMI cable --> AW3420DW HDMI in port

You would then use the AW3420DW Menu- Input Source to switch between them.

Keep in mind that the refresh rate will be capped at 60hz via hdmi (50 if using the max resolution). You need to use dp to get the full 120.

Unrelated question: I have 1 laptop. Can I output 1 HDMI to 1 monitor, and the other DP to monitor 2?
