Dell OEM AMD 6800 XT, adding thermal pads

I was looking to add thermal pads to my Dell OEM AMD 6800 XT. I want to put some between the back plate and back of the board. And I was thinking about changing the ones on the memory under the heat sink. Has anyone done this? And if so what thickness of pad did you use?
