Error after installing a driver from dell support

I own an alienware desktop that is approximately 3-4 years old. It's been fine until recently so popped up dell support and checked for driver updates. It said it had 2 recommended driver updates so I installed 1 of them and now my computer is displaying the infamous "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." I'm not sure what to do and I could use any help.

Sounds like you just need to go into BIOS and set Boot Priority #1 back to: Windows Boot Manager.

Until then, F12 on Boot should work to select bootable disk.

I use windows 10 on an alienware x51 r2. I went into the BIOS but the boot priorities seem to be fine. I don't understand your last paragraph (sorry, not very knowledgable in this subject), can you elaborate?

Also, if this helps at all, I have 2 monitors with a 4k 3680x2160 being the central one. It's also the one that seems to have refused to connect to the pc despite it and its cables being completely functional and making me use the side one. Just thought it might help.

Thank you,

1. I don't understand your last paragraph (sorry, not very knowledgable in this subject), can you elaborate?

2. and making me use the side one. Just thought it might help.

1. As the computer first turns-on and boots, tap the F12 key once-a-second. The one-time-Boot-Menu will appear and you can boot whatever drive you want.

2. I suggest connecting only the normal PC monitor for now ... until computer is working and booting properly.

In general, try to find some "system config" that works. After that, change one thing at a time as you troubleshoot the next problem.
