Rgb Psu options for r6
Wanting to upgrade the psu in an Alienware r6 to a rgb higher wattage psu. Is this possible and if so what recommendations are there?

One other cable which might be helpful (if it gets too tight to close the case) is a right angle. Some PSU's come with them, some don't. EVGA does not so you'd need this to upgrade to an EVGA psu:

The one thing to keep in mind is that most RGB PSU's light up the fan. In the Aurora, the plastic side covers the PSU fan, so there is very little, if anything, that you'd be able to see thought the air vents on the left side of the case.
If you are upgrading so you can add a larger GPU, I'd go with something like the EVGA G5 Gold 850W: www.amazon.com/EVGA-Supernova-Modular-Warranty-220-G5-0750-X1/dp/B07WDLTGC1/
That would be good to power an RTX 2080ti.

The other thing to remember is that if you have a DVD drive, you'd need to buy a slimline SATA power cable.

Thank you I appreciate the quick response. Do you think in a dark room the rgb would be visible at all or slightly? If not, does the Psu need to be modular?

You might be able to see it with the lights off. I can faintly see the light of the LEDS from my pcie add in cards and the GPU lettering with the lights off.
You don't need a modular but you can get it if you like. Like @Anonymous said the benefit of a modular PSU is that you can leave all the unused cables in the box and they won't block airflow. Otherwise, you roll them up and hide them in the metal box on the swing out arm of the Aurora's internal chassis. It will work either way just fine.
