UK Delivery - Dell / DP World / DHL
When reseraching Dell computers in search of a pre built gaming PC I did see multiple unhappy customers when it comes to the shipping / delivery but was hopefull that these were isolated incidents..... they were not.
Delay 1.
Dell failed to provide the correct documents so the computer was delayed in Poland. No notification given, only noticed via checking the tracking myself the day before delivery. Customer service advised that it may still be delivered on time. Still no updates the next day until 10.30am that it wasnt coming. Customer service promised that it would be delivered with 24 business hours but as it was a Friday this would now be on Monday. Booked a second day off work at late notice to take delivery.
Delay 2.
DHL scheduled to deliver on Monday but still no update at 10.30am. Now looked at the DHL tracking information only to see that it had been delayed again! I had not recieved any notification and no reason given for the second delay. I attempted to contact DHL ecommerce team for hours to discuss and try to arrange a collection... but you are not actually able to speak to anyone.
Called Dell customer service who are NO HELP AT ALL and am now onto my 3rd day off work for the computer to "maybe arrive".
Naively I was expecting some kind of premium service as I was spending £8000 on one computer but.... not even close.
I dont mind waiting for delivery but the lack of communication is really bad. Repeatedly finding out that the package is not coming on the day of delivery is extremely irritating and a massive waste of time.
Finally to top it all off... I decided to purchase some peripherals using my dell rewards for when the computer actually shows up.... nope that doesnt work either. So I call coustomer service and guess what... cant help and will "call me back later". (They never do call back)
I have also purchased the extended warranty including accidental damage, but based on the above I am starting to think that I have made a mistake with Dell.
