X51 R2, run Windows 11?
I just downloaded the Windows PC Healthcheck and it said my machine does not support Windows 11. On further investigation, it looks like TPM is required. I went into the bios on my Alienware X51 R2 (bios A12) and don't see TPM. Am I out of luck?

Windows 11 doesn't support under 8th Gen Intel CPUs.

The motherboard manufacturer was MSI. But, how does your motherboard question relate to the original posters line of question?

I'm looking at upgrading to Windows 11 too.
Need to figure out which version of x51 I have R1 or R2 .was manufactured in 2013 .
Then I gotta see if I can put TPM module on motherboard and will it work or bios recognise.
Have bios at A14

You need a BIOS update to allow it to be enabled. Even if you have a TPM slot, installing a TPMchip is useless without having the selection in BIOS to enable it.
I am assuming you don't have either a PTT or TMP slider in BIOS if you're asking?
Then, note that neither of those models would be officially supported by Dell or Microsoft for Windows 11.

Windows 10 is still fully supported until 2025, and by then computers will be much further ahead technology and performance wise that even a lower end machine will have the performance of a current mid range system.
I don't think you will be missing out on anything if you don't change to Windows 11 by the end of the year/beginning of next year.
Windows 11 is a tock, we will have to wait to windows 12 or later to see a tick.

You should be able to see your version by entering your service tag on Dell's support site: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us

Tried that and also tried dxdiag .
All it shows is x51 so probably R1.
I see some sellers selling TPM 2.0 module for x51 R1 but that's no good if I can't enabled in bios.
By any chance would TPM show up in bios if a TPM module was installed.

I checked bios and there's no option for TPM or PTT which I find strange being dell.
My old XPS laptop had .
If I can get TPM module to install and work then in time I have to build or buy new desktop.pity

If Win11 is on unsupported hardware, it can still update, but only some. It likely won't update to 24H2. So just put my own security software on my PC.
