X51 R2, Single fan GPU safe?
Since I've run every test imaginable and the issue with my system still isn't pointing any culprits, I'm starting to replace parts one by one, starting with the GPU.
I know that blower or reference style cards are the ideal option, but it seems they aren't being sold or made any more, at least not that I can find from reliable retailers. Is a single fan style GPU safe to run in an X51 R2 case?
My funds are limited and I've been stressing over this issue for a long time now. I just want to make sure that I get the right thing the first time around.

Single fan GPUs are designed to run at a higher RPM than a dual fan setup and in some cases have a larger fan. They cool just fine but due to the fan speed tend to be noisier. If you are concerned you could add additional case fans, if possible, to increase system cooling and that will help with the GPU cooling as well. I have used both single and dual fan cards in my systems and found little to no difference in cooling ability. However the manufacturer and model of card can make a difference. I had an EVGA 1060 3 GB GPU single fan and it cooled fine but was very noisy under stress. I now have an MSI 1660 6 GB dual fan and it cools well but is barely audible even under stress. Do a little research before purchasing a card and check reviews which can help narrow the choices for your GPU.

So you've had successful experiences running a single fan GPU and a dual fan GPU in a compact case like the X51 R2?

safe to whom? the PC or a specific apart of it?
STRESSED OVER WHAT NOT STATED AT ALL THE PROBLEN THE CTO OPTIONS WERE
no GPU stated, is it too hot ,80c is not. if 80c full tilt $60 gaming is this a gaming question, (that be unique)
DID YOU BUY AN UNSTATED GPU AND THE Overload the PSU? that?
Some use PC like this for reasons, like graphics and video rendering or engineering simulators CAD/CAM/CAE.
no ambient room stated. 20c or 34C? ( I know a guy runs PC in closet HDMI cable under door to desk and it overheated until I cured that(complex long answer)
here is what to learn about GPU cards first.
the card come on vast different types (even a GTX1070) does, some run faster clocks and more RAM )
RAM USES POWER TO, so the fans used match what the heat load needs, the fan count is not important.
IN AND OF ITSELF ever. (noise aside)
one guy posted here, gee, you think the maker with one fan wants to eat a warranty return x 100,000 cards , nah.
the card designer , actually knows what they are doing … trust them>?
what matters is the heat load, has enough fan flow, or 2 fans can be quieter that one , but running slower.
fan noise is complex topic, some fans make huge noises at only 1000RPM .
the cards are all different lengths and heights and that must fit and not hit things inside.
The best card really is full sized case card, so they have lots of room to cool it and not have to run thin tiny screaming fast loud fans. (like 1U dell servers do, ever hear those? wow , scares the wife here on backup day)
the Case needs to have fans added if the card you choose crosses the 75watt slot max rule.
tell more what is the problem none really stated yet, just hints.
what do you have in any R2 case, post photo of guts with lid off, PCs tend to change over time
Id not hazard to guess what you have, in that case ever.
Btw, never was there a case that I could not add fans to , not one, well SFF junk sure. (have tin snips will travel)

and what does stressing mean, over what?, not one cue yet, we wait with baited breath ,pant pant pant.
you said "AND:" why say that and not "OR" (IDK)
what does that mean, why not post photos of any modified PC or card.
is this a dual monitor setup, why not make and post your system total configuration
put in in text file then when posting paste it to end of post, decktops change over time we have no idea what you have in any PC, lacking at least a photo 1.
we only worry heat , not one word on heat stated, xx C temps, at all;.
if we see case and CPU /GPU temps to high we add a case fan.
why is that not done?
if the heat goes inside any case , something must push it all out or the case will overheat , thermodynamics.
the laws of thermodynamics are never repealed. we deal with the heat as we make it.
if you add heat , it needs to be expelled, enter FANS.
one software program tells you GPU and CPU heat. free.
and my cheap DMM meter has comes with thermocouple probe that lets me monitor case heat.
total investment $20 big money.
asking others how hot their PC runs is not really useful ever.. due to facts below.
