X51 R3, Can't detect GPU (Nv GTX 970)
My X51 R3 seemed a bit slow, so I decided to do a fresh install of windows 10. After the installation however my GPU (Nvidia GTX 970) can no longer be detected or used by the system. Additionally, whenever the computer is powered on the GPU fan constantly spins at 100% speed.
Seeing as it was functional before the reinstallation I'm not sure that the problem is hardware related. I think that the issue might be with the GPU drivers. I have tried to install the Nvidia drivers through Geforce and through downloading the GTX 970 driver directly off of their site but neither can install anything because "There is no Nvidia hardware on this device".
The system does still boot, but it can only use the integrated GPU. All available updates for BIOS, operating system, and drivers (save for the GPU) have already been installed. I keep the insides of my desktop clean, so dirt shouldn't be an issue, and I have ensured that all connections to the GPU are secure.
Does anyone know of a way to bypass the driver installer and manually install the drivers, or of any other potential fixes?

Thank you for your response.
Uninstalling the drivers and everything nvidia/geforce related did not work unfortunately did not work.
What ended up working was installing a new gpu. As of now everything seems to be working fine.

You must get all the drivers from Dell Drivers and Downloads. Dell customizes all the drivers for your exact model. You should have downloaded all the windows 10 from Dell as soon as you reinstalled windows. The Dell customized version of the Nvidia drivers must be used.

Thank you for your quick response.
I installed all of the drivers on the dell driver/support site shortly after reinstallation of windows.
Except for the Nvidia driver. When I attempt to install it, it gives me the message:
"NVIDIA Installer cannot continue
This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."

Try going to the Device Manager, Display Adapter, and seeing if you are able to view your GPU there under UHD graphics, and if the 970 is disabled or there is an exclamation point next to the 970. If you can see it, try uninstalling the device. Also, uninstall any GPU drivers under Apps.

Same problem. finally found a solution after trying everything else mentioned with no luck.
i ran a driver program called Driver Booster 6 and it identified the PCI to PCI bridge was faulty.
of note, i ran a different program, Avast Driver Updater, and it did not notice this error.
After Driver Booster fixed the PCI to PCI bridge the graphics card ran fine.
