Check this page for information regarding installing Windows 7 with the Intel Z170 chipset. Seems like a lot of work since Windows 7 drivers do not seem to support USB 3.0 during installation. And I would doubt the compatibility of Windows 10/8.1 drivers in general.
They might. The problem is not so much in the driver being compatible, it is whether the installer for the driver will allow installation in Windows 7. The installer may see Windows 7 and stop the installation since the OS is not Windows 10. You will be getting drivers then from other sources besides Dell. Hit and miss and the only way you will know is to try it.
