Alienware Area-51 A08 Bios locks up 1/3'd on post Load

Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Disconnect anything new inside the PC. Basically, return the computer to it's original shipping config. and try it that way.

If it works, add the peripherals one-at-a-time until you find the offending one.

Hey Tesla, I did all of that I've not added anything to this computer since I got it.

 

I'm using a Logitech g15 keyboard and a Razer Mamba mouse.  There is nothing else plugged into the system that isn't default.

 

It's funny your Alienware is exactly like my Alienware Area-51.

 

Anyway, also I'd like to note this didn't start happening until I upgraded to A08.

You might try using "Load Optimal BIOS Defaults" option or reflashing.

On good machines (good MB and BIOS) I've seen various USB devices prevent booting ... machine trying to mount or boot from what are really non-bootable devices. Certain LG Blu-Ray drives also cause this problem for some reason.

Intel or in settings, computer Management Intel has a configuration utility. I run Raid 0 to have dual protection after or during a Hard Drive failure, now windows actually warns you of a pending hard drive failure. So you might be able to boot from selection Array instead of the drive letter. I had a XPS also that gave a THERMAPP error or I think THERMALAPP that may have cuased the failure, then a port error with blinking cursor. Hope this helps someone may want reply with how to configure Raid on An area 51 systen.I think with windows 7 ultimate you can serve in IIS a web site so this is useful to use Raid properly set functioning drives it will start on normal. However if you ever get a message hard drive failing back up immediately don,t delay I got like 3 to five regular starts. Running Dell check on the drive crashed it next. However they took care of me well the support good and considerate. I highly recomend Dells top of the line systems. I did what is called complete PC back up to another Hard drive. Hopfully I can restore all the VISTA Ultimate. Into Windows 7 Ultimate without troubles Programs and settings for IIS so if anyone knows about the restore funtions befor I do it from the two Windows platforms let me know. Since they are both Ultimate I don't anticipate problems. The time consuming thing is of course programs and SSL certificates. So I hope windows Complete Back-Up works well.

Unplug the mouse and keyboard too. The system will not fully boot with no keyboard but you don't care you just want to get past the BIOS. You could always try flashing the A08 again. You did reset the BIOS, right?

I had a system once that would never boot if I had my webcam plugged in. Another one didn't like the printer but that was OK because I didn't like it ether so i sent it to Goodwill lol. Right now I have a $20 printer that takes $50 ink...
