Alienware M17xR4 TouchPad not working after removing USB mouse

I turned on the "disable touchpad when external usb mouse is attached" option in the command center and it worked without any issues for the first few months I had the Alienware.

This problem appeared out of the blue and the touchpad no longer works if that option is selected.

- If a USB mouse is attached and then removed later the touchpad does not work

- If the computer is booted up WITHOUT a mouse attached the touchpad does not work

- The touchpad will work in the login screen but disables itself once I am logged in

- The only way to get the touchpad to work is to disable the option, which will enable the touchpad.

Hi,

Request you uninstall touchpad drivers by going to device manager. Then you may use the below link and install touchpad drivers by selecting the right operating system:

If you have any other questions do reply to the same thread.

I have the same issue, Ive removed the software and reinstalled from the dell website using your auto detect tool. The touchpad useto work but doesnt anymore. Just installed the Windows 10 OS and still nothing.
