Alienware MX18 battery plugged in, not charging
I've seen these posts all over the place with plenty of solutions, so far none of them work. Unplugging the adaptor, uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI program, removing the battery and holding the power for 10-15 seconds, all sorts of stuff. So far, nothing worked. Affects both the 9-cell and 12-cell battery. System is one month old.

Does the system correctly detect the AC adapter, or is it listed as "unknown" (F2 at powerup to check). If it's "unknown" the first thing to try is a new Dell adapter. IF that doesn't solve the problem an mainboard repair or replacement is necessary.

Hello Hewittfamily
Sorry your M18x isn't working
If it's only a month old then it's still under warranty. You should call Alienware tech support. They can trouble shoot it much better over the phone and send a tech with parts if it needs something replaced.
