M I/O Lights unresponsive Aurora
Just to give you a background...
- I tried both versions of CC, neither worked
- My power light on the MIO board is orange
- My MIO board passes the diagnostic test with flying colors
- I have the latest .NET installed
- There are 3 pins on my mio board and I moved the green jumper from the bottom 2 to the top 2 then powered on and off a few times
- When I install CC and try to run it a THERMAL CONTROLLER ERROR and an ERROR pop up
- If I finally do get into CC and try to load a preconfiged effect, it says incompatible with your computer.
- I have an AURORA R1 with an ALX mobo.
- The lights would not work after I installed windows 7 OEM and I updated all microsoft updates
I can't think of anything else to try, I would appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

Have you tried the "Power Dissipation Fix" ?
That your MIO-board checks good in Dell Diags is a real good sign (that means it's working and not "bricked" or locked up). So, you can change the lights and fan speeds in there?

Power Dissipation is just unplugging the PSU and holding down the power button correct? Would it help if I physically unplugged the power cable from the MIO board itself? What do you mean change the fan and light speeds in there? Where?

Yes
Shouldn't need to. The orange light should still go off ... leaving the MIO-Board totally without power ... try 10 minutes.

Please don't start another thread for the same issue ... you already have 2 (which is 1 too many)

I thought I'd start another thread to better organize my trials and tribulations. I will try the dissipation fix, but if you find any other info I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

When I try to run LED diagnostics it gives me error code 5E00:2C26. Are you familiar with this error?

Have you tried REPAIRing your .NET Framework ( 4 client profile ) from the control panel/add remove programs? if that does not work then Uninstall and then reinstall .Net Framework,; if no resolve, then apart from knowing that it worked for me twice in the last year after Win Updates I have no more comments. Call Dell about the error code.
Good Luck

First you said this ...
But now this ...
Which is it?
No, 5xxx error codes are un-documented as far as I know. 5xxx is likely reserved for MIO-Board failures.
What about the fans test? Were these tests were run right after a long orange light off period (Power Dissipation Fix)?

Ok, I finally decided to check out the board itself, and discovered some of the wires were in the wrong spots. I fired it back up and the lights came on (side panels and alien head). Still the thermals do not work and I am unable to change the colors through ACC. My tower does not have the gills across the top. What should be plugged in and what should be left open? I figure there is something not plugged in the right spot that controls the changing of the colors. Also what does the Flexbay and GFX pump do? Thanks!

You said it's ALX, but then you said it has no louvers fins on top ... which is it ? (all true ALX machines have louver fins).
The PDF Service Manual has header plug descriptions for the MIO-Board. I also uploaded a pic of my installed board in some thread a while back.
How did they get changed? Has your machine been serviced?
FlexBay is for the factory Card Reader
GFX pump is un-used but obviously they were thinking (at one time) of adding a small liquid cooler directly to the video card(s).

My motherboard is for an ALX, I believe, the part number is 4vwf2. The tower doesn't have gills on the top tho... My MIO board part number is p0gvp. Most of the cables to the MIO are labeled but 1 or 2 of them aren't which I think may be in the wrong spot. What port controls the ability to change colors, recognize the device and thermals in CC? Thanks!

All the R1 (x58 based) Auroras (normal and ALX) use the same MotherBoard. I don't know what the DPN is, but printed on mine is: MS-7591 v1.0.
If your case does not have:
Louver fins
Vertical lighting strips on the sides of the front optical drive bays
Internal lighting (with battery pack)
... it's not an R1-ALX machine ... it's a normal R1.
2JXP2 - Aurora R1-x58 (Deimos)/Aurora R2 (Voltaire) ALX Master I/O Board
P0GVP - Aurora R1-x58 (Deimos)/Aurora R2 (Voltaire) non-ALX Master I/O Board
Mine is DP/N: 0P0GVP - On this version of the board, most header pin connectors and components for AXL functions are NOT soldered in. To CommandCenter is appears to be a non-ALX machine (no louver control or extra ALX lights)
So, it doesn't sound like your machine is an ALX model either.
You can follow the cables back to see what they are. Use Service Manual once you know.
They communicate with each other through an internal cable using a USB interface.
