Hi chocman,

Request you to try the following steps:

(1) Restart the computer

(2) Keep tapping F2 key at the Dell logo.

(3) BIOS screen appears, move to exit tab and select load optimal defaults

(4) Now check what are the options that appear in F12 menu.

Note: Make sure that you are using a bootable media only.

Do reply with your findings.

Hi chocman,

Thank you for bringing this to my notice. Request you to try following the below steps:

(1) Restart the computer

(2) Keep tapping F2 key at the Dell logo.

(3) BIOS screen appears, move to advanced tab.

(4) Make sure that the USB Emulation option is enabled.

Now check if the issue still happens.

If yes then send me the system service tag via private message. I will check and let you know what needs to be done.

The usb dvdROm is samsung , the pendrive is a generic one with no name on it, i can boot from the usb dvdROM by using the CD/DVD/BD option. I have also tried today with an intel branded usb harddrive.

You should check with the manufacturer of the pen drive. Explain that other USB devices are working as a boot source so the issue is not the computer.

Because the system does not recognize it as a bootable device.
