{MOVED}Alienware M18xR2 BIOS Update Not Working
I downloaded the latest BIOS for my M18xR2, which happens to be version A10. I created a bootable DOS USB drive and copied the file to it and booted into DOS to run the update, but the only response I get is 'Test.' and then it is back to the command prompt. The access light on the USB drive stops flashing as well, so it seems it is a pretty safe bet that nothing is running. I've tried a couple of different times with the same results each time.
What gives?

Most current BIOS releases cannot be loaded through DOS - you must use Windows in one form or another.

The download page specifically says to do it in DOS mode. They actually say using a 'DOS diskette', but I'm not about to go out and buy a disk drive 10 years after they've stopped being a viable storage medium.

So far I'm still on the older BIOS. I'm kind of surprised that no one else has responded to this issue. As of now I can 'live' with the old version, in spite of my urge to always have the latest and greatest.
