Need help with my new Alienware Laptop: Lid light does not function well
Hi,
I received my new Alienware 13 R2 laptop on Saturday, but sadly I found something wrong with it:
It happened when I tried to use the AlienFX command center to change the color of the lights.
When using the command center you can select different parts and change their light color using the color wheel and displays the change on the screen to visually show you which you have selected. But all the lights functioned well except the alien head light on the lid. It either did not light up, or lit up with only one sort of red color.
I have reinstalled the command center, as well as the BIOS, but it still did not work.
Could anyone help me with this issue?

Hi,
Try running the AlienFX tester application to confirm if it responds during the test. Click here to view a video that explains how to run this test.

I tried just now. It turned out the power button and the logo on the lid failed all the tests.

Hi,
In case it’s a glitch with the Alienware Command Center software, uninstall it from the Programs and Features list and restart the system. After this install it again, click here for the download link.
