New Alienware 14 "Alienware" logo under screen, red/yellow not working

Received my Alienware 14 yesterday, and see that the Alienware logo does not recognize the color red/yellow, just goes blank, no color.  It will change colors between the green and blue. I looked to see if I could find anyone with the same problem, but that proved unsuccessful. I followed the steps and deleted the command center, reg files, etc. and reinstalled w/o success. Also, removed the battery, unplugged and held the start button down for 20 seconds. Still no success. Updated to the latest BIOS, still no luck. I would take the thing apart, but it looks like nightmare, and being so new, no one has any instructions out there. Anyone have any suggestions? Just gave my M14X to my son, and kinda miss it. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but for the price?!

Hi Groo10,

You did the complete troubleshooting for issues related to the Command Center and the lights, pretty much. Next step is to contact your local Alienware Tech support or if you live in the US or Canada, send me a friend request and then send me your service tag through a private message to assist you personally.

Sorry, I haven't received any support from Dell on this issue since I last talked to Alienware-Alexander_J.
It doesn't seem to be something fixable, more likely something which would require the laptop to be returned to them to fix. It WOULD be nice to see some extra support, but I haven't received any. I wish you the best. I ended up giving up and living with the problem.

ok. got it. so the best solution of this problem is just to ignore it as it causing no effects on any thing.

Well, personally, I think it is a loose or faulty wire for that light display. I went thru all of the recommended software issues and didn't find a fix. Also, no other lights are having the problem. Just a guess, I hope you can get yours fixed, I just didn't feel like dealing with it and have since just ignored the problem.

Thanks for reply and wishing me.

I had given my laptop to a shop to service because i have the problem with AMD graphics card also.

that problem is not solved instead that light problem has occurred.
what do you think it can be a hardware problem or software problem.

Sorry for my English......

Well, if you have a warranty, you can return it to Dell and have them fix it/replace it. I just didn't want to deal with the hastle. Mostly because I didn't want to go without my laptop for a couple weeks. This was the best for me, but again might not be the best for everyone. Take care and good luck!
