System crash, cannot make to boot, flickering black/dark green screen
Hello everyone,
Few days ago, when I was using my laptop as usually, the screen suddenly freezed and I have to do a hard shutdown (hold power button). Upon restarting, all I got is a blank screen and sometimes flicker with dark green color and back to blank.I also cannot make it to boot screen (alienware head).
I began to troubleshoot the problem. And when I take out the GPU unit it worked normally.
I have not made any BIOS flash in the past 3 months. What could be the problem? Overheat issue? GPU's chip is fried up? Anything else I can do before I have to buy a new replacement?
My warranty is also expired too.

Hello Mydog2409,
It does sound like the problem is with your video card. It may need to be replaced. To determine this you can install another video card to check if the system boots normally. If it does, that would mean the video card needs to be replaced.

I have been able to run the Enhanced Pre-boot System Assessment (ePSA) to let it check for any faulty hardware. Strangely, it said there was no problem with the video card when I put it back to the motherboard.
What could really be the problem here?

The problem you're experiencing might be related to the video card itself or the motherboard's port where the video card connects (it might be a faulty port).
