Alienware Aurora R4 HDD failure . Plz help!

I have a Aurora R4. Since last friday I couldn't start up my computer with window located on my hdd. When i started the pc theres only "no bootable device". Hard drive cannot be found in BIOS, and won't show up on the system diagnosis. When I open up the menu pushing F2 it says there are 2 bootable devices. CD/DVD and network. It does not list the hard drive.

i have tried to remove and reseat the hard drive.(and to another drive slot)

Then i installed windows to my ssd and successfully boot into window.

And the system cant detect the hdd.    So is it a hard drive failure or can it be something else?

plz help !   the system is still under warranty.

Did you try the HD on an other SATA port and enable it?

An other option is to buy or use an external usb/sata bay/dock to check the harddisk or put it in another computer.

If you need the data on the HD you can try a specialized company in data retrieval. But this is very expensive.Otherwise call Dell for a harddisk exchange.

I have an external harddisk which I use for backups. Even SSD's can fail. Better save then sorry.

Hi Alan Li,

All the symptoms indicate that the HDD has failed and needs to be replaced. I recommend you get in touch with Technical Support in your region or send me a private message with your Service Tag and contact information if you're in the US or Canada so I can assist you further.
