15 R2, FPS drops whilst playing games
I have an alienware 15 r2 with GPU Nvidia GTX 980M. I usually play Fortnite and CSGO and every time i play i get fps drops. I have used task manager and i noticed that my cpu and gpu drops every 3-4 minutes repeatidly. I have updated EVERYTHING, used the drivers from DELL, flashed the BIOS, reinstalled Windows 10, changed the power settings to maximum, changed the battery life to charge between 50-100% but it still drops repeatedly. The same happens when i scan the video card with the stress test from support assistant. The assistant completes the scan succesfully but i noticed repeated drops of CPU every 3-4 minutes. If you have had similar problems it would be great if you could help me resolve this issue.

I also noticed that these drops happen when the battery is fully charged at 100%. If i unplug the power and allow the battery to go down to 50% and then plug it back again, i can enjoy playing games with no drops until the battery goes up to 100%. Do you think it might be an issue witht the power supply?

Hi,
Just to confirm, are you using the original AC adapter that came with the system?

Hello, I have the New Alienware 15 r2, RTX2080 and i experience sudden fps drop to about 20 and sometimes even 2fps when playing destiny 2 and division 2. It rises to 60fps at some point then falls back again. could you kindly assist?

mainly that's heat problem try repaste and using a cooling pad or just raise the the device with any thing to allow more air through,
and the battery problem it's mostly to lower watt power adapter, ex:- 180w vs 230
