15 R3, battery not charging
Hey,
I gave my laptop for repairing to a local shop. He claims that motherboad was short and after that repair he is claiming that laptop battery has also short circuit(electrical issue so it need to be changed not sure if its called short circuit). He said that battery does not charge at all but when i saw the laptop it was 5% charged and thn it drained out to 0%. since then it has stopped charging. I was checking event viewer to see if he changed some setting that will block my battery from charging and I found out that the event log was stopped for 30mins and thn started again. I checked in my my BIOS it says battery is in good health. I ran support assists and it shows no issues for hardware. I have also uninstalled my battery drivers and installed again.
Is there anything that I can do from here to trouble shoot this on my own.

Do you see the AC adapter type listed in the BIOS ? If the adapter type list Unknown or none than it's most likely a faulty adapter or DC jack. Try wiggling the AC adapter's end while checking it in the BIOS. This will help ensure the DC jack isn't loose. Also check for IDLE listed above battery health in the BIOS. If possible, please provide an image of the battery health and adapter in the BIOS.

Dell laptops are the worst anyone can buy. I regret buying one. And the engineers are so dumb that they keep telling you it's your adapter or battery that's causing this issue. I have this same problem on my latitude xt3. Not recognizing the adapter, even tho it's the original one.. I bought like 4 different adapters and batteries and it still won't charge. I Googled and realized dell embed an ID chip in both their laptops and adapters, so you will keep coming back to them and not buy an aftermarket replacement. This has actually caused many problems on their products. The ID chips dies in either the adapter or in the laptop and you won't be able to charge it anymore, hence this problem of "Adapter not installed" error. And the engineers will keep telling u its the battery or adapter that's causing it, how dumb can they be?? I'll advice u replace the motherboard of your laptop that's the only solution to your problem or you get another laptop and it shouldn't be a dell again.
