15 R4, how to upgrade hardware?

Hi,

I have had my gaming laptop a while now and am wondering if there are possibilities to be sustainable and upgrade the hardware?

My main concern is choosing the correct CPU and GPU compatible with the main card and expanding the RAM to the max abilities of the new CPU. The hardware won't be of the top shelf, this is due to limitations of current cooling system (air exclusively). I would like to have good enough hardware to play games like Horizon Forbidden West and (when it's available) Death Stranding 2 on high quality graphics (ultra settings are not neccessary).

I have an Alienware 15 R4 per today with the following specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz

16 GB RAM

A bit over 3TB of storage accross 3 disks.

Killer E2500 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (no need for anything better, I do not stream and play almost exclusively single player)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060

Please advise.

The CPU and GPU are both soldered to the mainboard -- they are not upgradeable short of replacing the system board entirely, and even then your options with be both expensive and very limited.

Any major upgrade short of increasing memory:  you need a new system.
