15 R4, lid open/close issues
Hi, my Alienware 15 R4 works perfectly with a hdmi to monitor, keyboard and mouse, but when I open the lid it shuts off, if I open the lid and power on it shuts off before bios can load in, but if I turn on and close the lid, and go hdmi to monitor it works fine? I want to be able to use it as a normal laptop.

Try going into the Windows settings for Power and Battery and see what settings you have for closing the lid and the power button. Maybe something is set strangely in there. If you've ever messed with any BIOS settings then you could also try resetting these to default.
Also, try hitting the Windows key + P when you have the external monitor working and select Duplicate. maybe that will work for you.

@mattyb3 Tried all that, it's like reverse, everything shuts down the second the lid is open and the screen goes to turn on, checked all cables, I think it's either the screen or inverter perhaps
