15 R4, USB sound card compatibility?

On page 14 of this manual, it shows =

Does that mean that I wont be able to plug in and use a USB sound card? I'm looking to record 2 line level signals at the same time.

Given that the manual mentions it in the context of the system's USB Type-C port, that sentence very likely means that the USB-C port on that system doesn't support DisplayPort Alt Mode.  That capability involves having a native GPU output wired to the Type-C port, which allows you to use adapters/dongles like USB-C to DisplayPort or USB-C to HDMI in order to send a video and audio signal to a display/TV through that port.  That is a very odd choice of phrasing in the manual, though.

Anyhow, a USB sound card would be fine because from the system's perspective, it's just working with regular USB data between the system and the sound card, not actual audio, because the sound card is handling the "native" audio signal.  And in fact unless your USB sound can use USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), then you wouldn't get any benefit from connecting it to the Type-C port rather than the USB-A ("regular USB") ports that support up to 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps).
