16 Aurora AC16250, problem with the power supply diode

The power supply LED lights up after unplugging the power supply from the wall outlet and leaving it connected to the laptop. Is this normal?

No it isn't, but more detail requires knowing the system model.

According to Dell, this may be normal. There's some reverse voltage (minimal). But it's strange because when I unplug the cable from the laptop and plug it back in, it doesn't light up. Or if the laptop is off and then charging under power and I unplug it, the LED stays on until I turn the laptop on, then it turns off.

I would press for a warranty replacement of the adapter -- if that doesn't solve the problem, it's likely a faulty system board.

I can understand some stray voltage but not enough to illuminate an LED on the adapter.

Does the system perform normally on battery power?

Well, the system is working normally, both on electricity and on the battery. There's nothing wrong with it except that pesky diode. Service says it's nothing serious.

The problem is still not resolved. I've been trying to resolve the issue with Dell for almost two weeks, but no action has been taken. I've called the hotline, sent messages on WhatsApp, and nothing. Everyone says something different. A new laptop, but a broken one...

If the system is less than 30 days from shipment, request a refund or  replacement system.

Hi, i have exactly same issue. I got one, sent it back. Bought another one and.. same thing happens. Do these all have it? Now i wonder if i am signing up for potential future power problems or it is irrelevant.

For me, it works like this: when the battery is full and I unplug it from the wall socket, the LED stays on. But if I unplug it from the wall socket when the battery is 60-70 percent charged, the LED on the power supply goes out. Very strange.

@PablitoPL I haven't tested this yet. I have this laptop for 2 days now. And it is another one. I got one before, i noticed this issue and i sent it back. I got this one and boom - same thing. Now i am talkin to support and i am very curious how they explain it, but i am sure this isn't a standard behavior. Did you have any issues so far?

Apart from this strange phenomenon, I haven't noticed any negative issues. Tech support couldn't tell me whether it was OK or not. I spoke with several people. Some said it was fine, others said I should replace the motherboard. The laptop is also a month old.

@PablitoPL Support told me today that it may be battery releasing charge. They called it "reverse charge". If i return this one also i begin to feel like i am gambling :)
