The Alienware originally would not boot at all and had no RAM installed with the 2-3 blink codes. I acquired new RAM and installed it in the first DIMM slot and the screen backlight but would not reach the dell splash screen or indicate any error. I have since tested it with other RAM sticks out of a working 17 R4 and it still only does the backlight with no boot. I ran the graphics test by holding D and it showed the colors. What is likely my issue?
