17 R4, CPU vs GPU selection issue, extended desktop (Updated, Major Issue)

Question

Despite all efforts I can't change my primary graphics processor for my built-in display. Is this normal? I watch tv on my external and play games on my built-in display. Should I be concerned about flipping these settings? Everything wants to launch using integrated graphics despite setting my gtx card as primary in the nvidia control panel. physX is actually set to gpu. It gives me no options for setting gpu for built in display and it wants to default to external. most games do run on my gpu card but i have to tell them to every time I launch despite gpu set as default in the nvidia panel, everything wants to launch using my cpu instead. My games are set to launch using the gpu in the program settings of nvidia control panel, and I can tell that they are using the gpu card. however, right-clicking the program to select the processor on launch, always says integrated is default, and some games I have seem to follow that rule while most use the gpu.   Update 12-24-19Still unresolved Thank you @Alienware-Eimy I unchecked that. I've uninstalled the G-force Experience as I think it has been slowing things down. It seems to have been throttling my frame rates way down periodically for some time before they return to normal. ending the process seems to have resolved that particular issue. Drivers being used: Ive tried both Gfx_NV_A01_307.17 which shipped with the computer as well as 347.25 numerous times, clean installs.Intel HD Graphics Video_Driver_M38YW_WN_v8.15.10.2653_A02Also tried the intel-HD-4000-win64_15.33.48.5069 from the intel site but that didn't help so I rolled back. Bios was A12, was updated to A14 for a while, then rolled back to A12 with no changes. I reinstalled my OSD so that the fn-f7 works for switchable graphics and here's what Ive found:Each time requires a system reboot. Switching to GPU only, yields these results: So everything so far seems to work as it should except that the device manager no longer registers my Intel HD4000 however it still runs the Physx as indicated with the on-screen display for some games. I also no longer get any graphics options for the Intel side. When I fn-f7 back and reboot, yields the original results. both display drivers appear in the device manager. GTX is set as primary 3d manager both globally and individual programs via the nvidia control panel. However, Intel HD graphics still override the nvidia settings and tries to run my games instead of the GPU. Using skyrim as an easy example but this problem is universal.All power options are set to maximum performance. To further demonstrate the issue I'm having and the weirdness of it...Both display drivers are enabled as shown in the first pictures.I switch to 'Projector Only' I open a game (like skyrim) on the TV and BAM! runs with GTX 680.But if I try to open it on the laptop screen (even with the projector disconnected) it only runs with Intel HD4000.Weird right? Ive tried everything I could think of. Bottom line is the system settings need to be hacked somehow to make the Intel graphics run my TV, and the GTX to run my laptop screen. It's positively the opposite is what's happening. you'd think there would be an easy optional setting but I can't figure out how to flip the two without making the projector my primary display.The only other way is to fn-f7 and completely disable my Intel graphics but this does not seem like the correct thing to do. Also I know I'm not the only one with this problem as I've seen several other support issues regarding the same thing.

Hi @crimpson11

In case you are using GeForce experience and you select the option as "use optimal settings", it will revert all the changes made by you on the Nvidia control panel, so make sure you don't do that.

Also, is the BIOS and video drivers up to date?
