17 R4, keyboard keys not working after keyboard replacement
Greetings.
The keyboard keys 'm', 'up', and '5' on the Numpad were not working from time to time, mostly they turned off after heating the laptop (during the game). Then these buttons completely stopped working. I ordered a keyboard and replaced it. Everything worked as expected for a month, but after a month, the same buttons stopped working, but on a new keyboard. It started with the same symptoms, turned off when heated, now they don't work completely. Why do the same buttons not work on 2 different keyboards? Shall I try replacing the keyboard again? The warranty expired a long time ago.

Hey!
A week ago I replaced the 4th keyboard on my Dell Alienware 17 R4. This time I taped cable and the back of the keyboard with duct tape, put a soft foam on the bend of the cable. I don't know if this will help or not in the future.
The laptop is designed terribly, in order to replace the keyboard you need to disassemble it completely, disconnecting the display connectors, removing the entire cooling system and the motherboard.
Never buy Dell devices. Dell is the worst laptop maker I know. Having bought a laptop for $3000, I have received absolutely no technical support for all the time, because I don't live in the USA.
I change everything with my own money, I buy spare parts. The company, even here on the forums, did not deign to comment on this defect of the keyboard, about which dozens of topics were created in technical support, where they only offer to reinstall drivers and update the BIOS, which of course doesn't help.
Devices are terribly unreliable. Dell is the worst company.

I have the exact problem too. The exact same keys. The letter 'm', the numpad '5' and the up arrow key. This cannot be a coincidence. The randomly do not work a while, then back to working condition. Can someone help pls
