17 R5, AlienFX 2.0 not supported? #2
Our new gaming Alienware 17 R5 MLK refresh Laptop refuses to install the AlienFX 2.0 applications.
We frequently visit the Dell Support Alienware 17 R5 Drivers & Downloads webpage because SupportAssist does not find new AWCC & OC Controls updates. Have installed the current AWCC Version 5.2.106.0, A00 <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> and OC Controls Version 1.3.13.1300, A00 . However, the AWCC FX tab is not installed and the AlienFX 2.0 plus Test applications are not installed. SupportAssist does not have AlienFX 2.0 troubleshoot option. Dell Support do not provide AlienFX 2.0 installation guides (only AlienFX 1.0 installation guides).
Request user of 17 R5 to post hyperlink to their AlienFX 2.0 tester application, so that we can install it on our 17 R5 and troubleshoot this fault. (Guess that Private Message does not provide this file attachment option.)

Have 'invested' many hours over six months, trying to install a fully functioning Dell AWCC update to reinstate AlienFX 2.0 applications, etc. Dell's quality control does not exist and AWCC Home and FX tabs try, but consistently fail to persist. Dell SupportAssist application does not troubleshoot AWCC and/or OC Controls. Big mistake buying new and expensive Alienware Laptop that does not get fixed under first year warranty return.
The requested copy of AlienwareAlienFXTester.exe has not been provided by Dell, or in response to this second thread.
Still do not know if this hardware and/or software fault.
In response to Dell EMC Community Team email, his thread closed (Solved) with no fix to this problem.

We have posted the request to have AlienFX Tester included in SupportAssist troubleshoot. All users are more than welcome to contribute to this NO LIGHTS discussion.
Tron, Alien Head, Alienware logo, Power Button, Keyboard backlights, etc.

The AlienwareAlienFXTester.exe is part of Alienware AlienFX. We do not know what other files it requires and hope that it is a standalone application.
Guess that AlienFX 1.0 and AlienFX 2.0 install their tester in the same place. Internet research says AlienwareAlienFXTester.exe is usually located in the 'C:\Program Files\Alienware\Command Center\' folder.
