17 R5, Service tag and Express Code not found

Question

Hello. I have an Alienware 17R5. My service tag (found on supportassist) is (Service Tag Removed) with a express service code of (Service Code Removed). These codes apprear invalid and alienware/dell support will not help with any of my issues until this is fixed. I need to either get these codes changed or verifyed.

First thing, you should NEVER share your Service Tag or Service Code with anyone except for a Dell Support rep.

Saying that, the tag you posted is not a valid tag so there's no way they can help you out. Go into your BIOS and see if the Service Tag is also there. There should be a sticker on the base of the laptop with it on as well.

Please connect laptop to the internet and click on Product Support and enter Alienware 17 R5 in Search, so that the System Board (aka Motherboard) private Service Tag can be automatically revealed. (For your own protection, do not share your private system Service Tag and/or Express Service Code in this public forum.)

The number eight and letter B are always hard to identify in the Service Tag. This one has three so you need to re-examine the label or check the BIOS as instructed by mattyb3.

Hi @jburdoo the Dell motherboard might have been replaced, but not sure of replacement pedigree?

Please download & install the free Belarc Advisor and look at System Model for motherboard serial number. If Dell motherboard, this is your private Service Tag. If not Dell motherboard, there is no Dell warranty and you should contact vendor and invoke eBay additional purchase protection, etc.
