Alienware 14 Laptop Charger Problem
Currently my Alienware 14 Laptop is at a state where I have the charger connected and it charges but after a minute or so it stops charging and then after a couple of seconds it starts charging again for a minute or so and this just repeats. I don't know what the issue is I have my charger connected to a reliable source and it seems that it is always on because of a light on it is always on even when my computer stops charging. I am currently running a bios diagnostics and it said that it found no issues with anything. If anyone can help to pinpoint what the issue is that would be great. If any more information is needed as well please let me know and I'll get to you as soon as possible.

Do you have any blinking lights? The unit is around 5 years old I believe. It is possible that the adapter or battery could be going bad. Also the dc port on the system could be bad inasmuch as the adapter plug could be loose in it. But try the reset first. Disconnect the battery and unplug the adapter. Then press and hold the power switch for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try again.

I don't see any blinking lights unless you are talking about the power button which I have it set to pulse when charging. I'll try resetting it when I'm back home and just to make sure do you know what screwdriver I need specifically to open it? I feel like it is the port or the connection is loose because I can wiggle the wire when it is connected and if the charger stops charging and I reconnect it starts charging again. I really don't know what the issue is and the battery is healthy after I ran a bios diagnostic it has a health percent of 98 ( I did replace it a while ago). Thanks for the reply!

There should not be play in the connection -- replace the DC jack:
