Alienware 15 R2 unable install Windows 10 on m.2 SSD
Hi everyone. I just got good deal on 15 R2 (i7 6700 HQ, 970M, 16GB RAM) and inside there was only one 1TB SATA HDD. I went and bought from friend M.2 SSD (this one: https://image.ibb.co/gR32W7/IMG_20180505_194012.jpg) and there is no chance to make it work. In bios it doesn't get recognized, but in Windows I can create partition from it and use it normally. I tried everything, from cloning disk and trying to reboot, disconneting existing SATA hdd from laptop. I can even see it inside Windows 10 installation process but I cant format it to make it work I always get this messages (https://image.ibb.co/iFrHyn/IMG_20180505_230735.jpg and this one https://image.ibb.co/kvERr7/IMG_20180505_230744.jpg). I tried even through Windows Installation console (**bleep** f10) to clean and convert but nothing helps. PLEASE if someone can help me.

I can normally format it and create partition on it so I don't think that's problem. I can see it in Windows and even during windows installation but when I try to choose this ssd for windows installation I got those 2 error like above in images you can see.

I did this with diskpart and same thing, and my settings in BIOS is already changed to AHCI and not RAID.

Ok, then when Windows Setup first loads before you click anything, press Shift+F10 to open Command Prompt, then enter the following:
diskpart
list disk
select disk X (replace X with the number of the SSD based on the output of list disk above)
clean
exit
exit
Then try moving forward. If it still doesn't work, check the SATA Operation setting in your BIOS, since despite the name, it applies to NVMe SSDs as well. It should be set to AHCI.

You're going to need to delete the existing partition on the drive in order to install Windows. Before doing this, make sure your system is set for AHCI model (NOT RAID).

So main problem here is that SSD is not visible inside Alienware BIOS. I manage to install windows on this SSD but there is no chance to boot from it when laptop starts, it become visible only inside Windows, when I boot from other HDD.

So I had chat with three (3) different support staff (Indian) from Dell. Since first one just decided to literary run away when he couldn't answer my question, and other two again literately admit to me that they have no clue about anything and that this doesn't write in their books, anything about this. Since my laptop was still with warranty I was expecting some better support since it's Alienware "World best laptop", but I got "World worst support". And after everything guy just told me to sell this one and go to buy a new one but this time with SSD already installed inside :) this is the first and LAST time I bought something from Dell and Alienware. Thank you and good bye. This one is going on sale and I am done with it.Thank's for nothing Dell.
